My name's Jake Bourey, and I've dedicated a significant portion of my life to music and deciphering the science behind its beauty. As you can guess from my blog's title, I'm especially passionate about hip-hop. I post and review the best songs hip-hop has to offer, old and new. Most are in the “underground” genre, considering that’s where the vast majority of hip-hop's true art resides these days.
Blu & Exile - The Narrow Path
I was going to post a song from Blu & Exile’s 2nd collab album Give Me My Flowers While I Can Smell Them, but after listening to it again I realized I still love almost every song off of their first collab album Below The Heavens more than my second favorite song off of Give Me My Flowers While I Can Smell Them (my favorite being Growing Pains). It’s actually a really solid album, but Blu & Exile will never make another collab album that will surpass their first. Below The Heavens is a true classic of hip-hop classics. Here are some of my other favorite songs from it.
Blu & Exile – Soul Amazin’ (Steel Blazin’)
Blu & Exile – Show Me The Good Life (ft. Aloe Blacc & Joseph)
