My name's Jake Bourey, and I've dedicated a significant portion of my life to music and deciphering the science behind its beauty. As you can guess from my blog's title, I'm especially passionate about hip-hop. I post and review the best songs hip-hop has to offer, old and new. Most are in the “underground” genre, considering that’s where the vast majority of hip-hop's true art resides these days.
Joey Bada$$ - Indubitable
This is my favorite song off of Joey Bada$$’s second mixtape Rejex. Much like his first mixtape 1999, all of the songs are good, but none of them are mindblowingly amazing. Every song is about the same in quality, so it’s hard to pick a favorite. I definitely prefer 1999 more, but Rejex is enjoyable nonetheless. Even though Joey Bada$$ is consistent, he needs to start going out of his comfort zone. I love his mellow flow, but he never changes it up enough. His undeviating style makes many of his works too similar in nature. Regardless, I have very high hopes for his future hip-hop career. He’s only 18, so he has many many years to perfect his art. My overall favorite song by Joey Bada$$ is Unorthodox (prod. by DJ Premier), in case you were curious.
