My name's Jake Bourey, and I've dedicated a significant portion of my life to music and deciphering the science behind its beauty. As you can guess from my blog's title, I'm especially passionate about hip-hop. I post and review the best songs hip-hop has to offer, old and new. Most are in the “underground” genre, considering that’s where the vast majority of hip-hop's true art resides these days.
Sadistik - Ashes To Ashley (ft. Mac Lethal)
Sadly, Sadistik is still extremely unknown in the realm of hip-hop, even for most hip-hop heads. His debut album The Balancing Act is a very unique album. It defines much of what is missing from today’s hip-hop scene, true unfiltered emotion seamlessly portrayed with beautiful poetic lyrics.
Ashes To Ashley illustrates the questions in life that remain unknown, and the pain that is derived from this ignorance about our world. Not to mention Mac Lethal delivers some of his best lyrics ever. It’s straight poetry all the way though, with very dynamic flows from both artists. A true hip-hop classic in my book.
As a side note, this is my 1500th post…and I started this blog almost exactly 1 year ago. Thanks for all of the support thus far. I hope to help hip-hop fight back long into the future.
